Virgie Lee Foley 83 of Newburgh, IN and formerly of Enfield passed away Thursday morning February 6, 2020 at Harbor Hospice Center in Houston, TX. She was born November 15, 1936 in Enfield, the daughter of Virgil and Christina (Barton) Newman. She married Max Foley on August 25, 1954 in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Virgie was a lifelong hairdresser; she and her husband Max also worked together on the Foley Farm in White County. Virgie loved playing the piano for her church. She was a member of the East Minister Presbyterian Church in Evansville.

She is survived by her husband, Max; her son, Max (Joan) Foley, Jr.; her daughter, Christine (Monte) Deitz; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, James Newman and sister, Katherine (Don) Woodrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gene Newman and sister, Doris Owings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday February 12, 2020 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with Larry Woodrow officiating. Entombment will be in Springerton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
